If not put the files on another usb stick after checking it works, or format the old usb, format it again in the shield if now recognized then install files back onto it.Īfter the 7.2 update I loss connection to my PS3 oem controller. You can still see the drive contents in ES through shields storage, but you wont get the USB* name on the left of ES anymore." Go into settings -> apps -> ES File explorer and clear data/cache and when you start it, say no to that question. "When you started ES with the drive, if it asked you to have ES access the drive and you said yes, what it meant was unmount the drive from SHIELD and make it ONLY visible in ES. I would then check if ES file explorer was enabled with the update install, if so:
Put the USB into a laptop, make a file on your desktop and copy every file on the usb stick.that's just to be safe. Any way to get it working again without losing Plex server's stuff? Not too impressed with this update so far I'm guessing it had data stored on the stick. Now my USB stick is not working (supposedly it's not supported anymore) and my Plex server stopped working as well.
Think there is a new root app used by most people as far as I understand SuperSU is the recommended root spp now. Does rooting have any negative effects on Netflix or prime video? I haven't had a need to root in years, thinking i may just to get rid of youtube ads. Since your bootloader was already unlocked from the previous root, you don't lose any settings or have to start from fresh, you just gain root access again. After which you can reboot and you're done. Takes like 10 seconds for SuperSU.zip to install.
Twrp recovery will load, then using a USB mouse, go to install and then click on supersu.zipĪlso you can use the built-in sideload option as well to send the zip from your PC, but I find it way simpler to just keep a copy of supersu.zip on the root of the drive (like in the twrp folder). Once it's rebooted into the bootloader, send fastboot boot twrprecovery.img command Open Minimal ADB & Fastboot and send adb devices command to make sure the server is started.Ĭonnect USB cable to Shield and PC to make the usb debugging connection (USB debugging should still be enabled on Shield from previous version). Takes me like 5 minutes and just requires a usb mouse.
You lose root, but since the bootloader is already unlocked, it's really quite easy to reroot it.
